Managing your estate,
the way to peace of mind

It starts with a good estate plan

Peace of mind is the salient benefit of a good estate plan. Regardless of your net worth, estate planning serves you and your family well during life and after death.

While each estate plan is unique, addressing specific personal and family issues, a comprehensive estate plan will include a will, a power of attorney, a living will and a medical power of attorney. It may also include one or more trusts which fine tune the plan to better achieve your goals in distribution of your assets. Certain trusts are also excellent vehicles to avoid inheritance taxes, gift taxes, and probate.

What an estate plan does

Essentially your estate plan clearly specifies who will make financial and medical decisions in the event you lose the capacity to make those decisions — and who will inherit your assets. In the case of a second marriage or a marriage late in life, a prenuptial agreement may also be appropriate. When questions or issues arise after marriage, couples may consider a post nuptial agreement.

By identifying who does what and when, family members are relieved of stressful decisions in trying times. And you have the peace of mind that you have provided well for your family.
